(Oh my darling Clementine)

Verse 2

    F C
She knew that Cody was the man she wanted
G7 C
But she had waited nearly all her life
         F C
Just one more trip to town to tell the boys goodbye
     G7 C
Then he'd be back to take her for his wife
           G7 C
(Don't you worry) Clementine

Verse 3

F C
Cody saddled up and left his darling
     G7 C
Then rode to town to celebrate his plan
   F C
He told them this would be his last carousing
    G7 C
I'm gonna settle down boys if I can
         G7 C
(With my darling) Clementine

Verse 4

F C
Someone said it must have been past midnight
G7 C
When Cody had to face a jealous man
F C
Another story goes that no one really knows
       G7 C
But it seems there was a dance-hall girl called Nan
           G7 C
(Don't you tell) Clementine

Verse 5

F C
We do know that a shot or two was heard from some back room
     G7 C
Then there was a silence in the place
         F C
Just one more trip to town but all his chips were down
     G7 C
They found Cody lying on his face
        G7 C
(Softly calling) Clementine

Verse 6

F C
So buddies make a monument to lay down at his head
G7 C
Sure you hate to leave your pal behind
F C
Mother help your daughter put her wedding dress away
      G7 C
Cause Cody won't be riding back this time
        G7 C
(To his darling) Clementine
