Key of D · Chords: I II IV V

Chorus

                    G D
Farther along we’ll know more about it
              E7 A A7
Farther along we’ll understand why
      D D7 G D
Cheer up my brother live in the sunshine
                    A7 D
We’ll understand it all by and by

Verse 1

        D G D
Tempted and tried will oft make you wonder
                      E7 A7
Why it should be thus all the day long
      D G D
While there are others living about us
               A D
Never molested though in the wrong

Verse 2

     D G D
When death has found and taken our loved ones
                    E7 A7
Leaving our home so lonely and dreary
     D G D
Then do we wonder why others prosper
          A7 D
Living so wicked year after year
