Verse 1

C F
Some folks like the summertime when they can walk about
G7 C
Strolling through the meadow green well it's pleasant there's no doubt
                                                   F
But give me the wintertime when the snow is on the ground
        G7 C
Cause I found her when the snow was on the ground

Verse 2

                                      G7
Well I found little footprints in the snow
                                 C
I found little footprints in the snow
                          F
Bless that happy day that Nellie lost her way
        G7 C
Cause I found her when the snow was on the ground

Verse 3

                                                     F
Well when I dropped in to see her there was a yellow moon
    G7 C
Her momma said she just stepped out be returnin' soon
                                                           F
I found her little footprints and I traced her through the snow
  G7 C
I found her when the snow was on the ground

Verse 2

                                      G7
Well I found little footprints in the snow
                                 C
I found little footprints in the snow
                          F
Bless that happy day that Nellie lost her way
        G7 C
Cause I found her when the snow was on the ground

Verse 4

                                          F
Well now she's up in heaven with an angel band
  G7 C
I know I gonna meet her in that promised land
                                             F
Every time the snow falls it brings back memories
  G7 C
I found her when the snow was on the ground
