Verse 1

C F C
While drinking alone in a tavern one day
                          G7
My eyes they hardly could see
  C F C
I heard a kind voice ringing so loud and clear
                     G7 C
And here is what the voice said to me

Verse 2

                     F
Go home (go home) go home (go home)
    C G7
And kneel by your bedside and pray
   C F
Go home (go home) go home (go home)
         C G7 C
God will answer your prayer today

Verse 3

                            F C
I staggered across the room to the door
                     G7
I almost fell on the floor
    C F C
I'm sure there was laughter but I could not hear
                         G7 C
For the words that still ring in my ear

Verse 2

                     F
Go home (go home) go home (go home)
    C G7
And kneel by your bedside and pray
   C F
Go home (go home) go home (go home)
         C G7 C
God will answer your prayer today

Verse 4

                           F C
God sobered my mind and He saved my soul
                                   G7
And He erased my thoughts from all fear
     C F C
Then back to the tavern I preached of these words
                     G7 C
The words that still ring in my ear

Verse 2

                     F
Go home (go home) go home (go home)
    C G7
And kneel by your bedside and pray
   C F
Go home (go home) go home (go home)
         C G7 C
God will answer your prayer today

Verse 5

                               F C
The crowd started leaving with heads bowed so low
                               G7
As the bartender picked up the key
      C F C
As he locked the door he murmured these words
                        G7 C
Was the same words that God spoke to me

Verse 2

                     F
Go home (go home) go home (go home)
    C G7
And kneel by your bedside and pray
   C F
Go home (go home) go home (go home)
         C G7 C
God will answer your prayer today
