Key of C · Chords: I IV V

Verse 1

C
Woke up this morning looking for my shoes
                                 C7
Looked behind the trunk felt the hesitation blues
              F C
Lordy tell me how long will I have to wait
                 G7 C
Can I get to you now must I hesitate

Verse 2

Well I´m going to the river take a rocking chair
                          C7
If blues overtake me rock away from here
              F C
Lordy tell me how long will I have to wait
                 G7 C
Can I get to you now must I hesitate

Verse 3

Well I´m going up the mountain peep through a hole
                                 C7
Saw your little monkey doing the sweet jelly roll
              F C
Lordy tell me how long will I have to wait
                 G7 C
Can I get to you now must I hesitate

Verse 4

Well I´m going to the river gonna sit right down
                              C7
If the blues overtake me I´ll jump in and drown
              F C
Lordy tell me how long will I have to wait
                 G7 C
Can I get to you now must I hesitate
