Verse 1

G
Been runnin' around seen many a town
                             D7 G
So maybe you'll find I'm the kind of guy that brags
                            C G
But listen to me and see if you don't agree
                          D7 G
No melody rolls like that ole steel guitar rag

Verse 2

              C G
And when they slide that thing along the strings
   A7 D7
It sounds so dawg gone heavenly you'll hear them angels sing
         C G
When you stomp your feet your heart will beat
  A7 D7 G
A rhythm to that ole steel guitar rag

Verse 3

You maybe kinda choosy about the kind of songs you hear
                                         D7
You may like them that's bluesy make you cry right in your beer
    G C
But if you like a song that's bound to drive away your tears
                G D7 G
Make happy your soul with that ole Steel Guitar Rag
