Windy Mountain

Key of E · Chords: I IV V

Chorus

    E
Oh, how I’d like to be upon a windy mountain
                               B
Where the tree tops scrape the sky
     E
Then I would forget all my worries and my troubles
     A B E
I’ll just let the wind blow them by

Verse 1

  E
I how I love the sound of the wind when it’s howlin
                      B
For it blows my blues away
   E
It makes me forget the girl that I’m lovin
     A B E
Lets me forget until another day

Verse 2

    E
Let me hear the leaves on the trees when they are singing
                               B
Just a moment of relief is all care
    E
For I’ve got no sorrow heartaches or sadness
   A B E
As long as I can see the trees that sway

Verse 3

       E
Oh, my friends bury me a way up on the mountain
                                B
Where that old wind will always blow
    E
For I want to rest alone on the mountain
     A B E
With the howlin wind that I love so

Verse 4

     E
Tell my old lover in care you should see her
                                      B
Just how much I love her she’ll never know
    E
And that I’ve gone to rest away upon the mountain
      A B E
Where the howling wind will always blow
